As part of NASSCOM Friday’s 2.0 (Emerging Companies Forum – Marketing), we take pleasure in inviting you to attend the 41st session of NCR companies on 14th November 2008 (Second Friday of the month). The session is on “Journey of an entrepreneur to mobiles value added services world” and the speaker for the session is Vijay Shekhar Sharma from One97 Communications.

More than half of the world is now having a mobile device in hand. The mobile devices(whom calling a phone will be demeaning for their capability) are getting smart and smarter day by day. Today’s phones are with hard disks and processing capacities significantly more than computers couple of years back. In middle of such an exciting platform, Vijay started early on in 2000 to setup One97 Communications and to build mass-market applications and services for telecom networks.

In his talk Vijay will talk about how the telecom application sold as service is the way forward and other opportunities in the VAS market. He started this business towards the end of Internet downturn in 2000 and we are all getting to see similar markets again. These are times to test yourself through and build a lasting organization. Profile for Vijay Shekhar Sharma: 
Vijay Shekhar Sharma is the Founder and Managing Director of One97 Communications (P) Limited. A prodigy, having finished school at 14, Vijay is the youngest engineer to graduate from the prestigious Delhi College of Engineering. He set up his first successful business venture at the age of 19.

Prior to launching One97 Communications in 2000, Vijay worked with companies like River Run Software Services and Intersolutions. It was here at Intersolutions that Vijay understood the nuances of the telecom market and the spaces that needed to be explored.

This became the foundation for his vision of utilizing MVAS for a booming telecom industry.
It is Vijay’s complete hands-on approach and a strong visionary leadership that steers the business from one successful milestone to the next… It is his passion and belief that nothing is impossible and that a dream can be delivered, that has made One 97 a market leader and trendsetter in the Telecom VAS industry.
